Principles of Teaching the Adult Learner —
A Nursing Educator introductory course
This self-study module provides a basic understanding of teaching adult learners in the nursing program or nursing school. The intent is to establish an overview of teaching and learning principles.
After successfully completing the post-test, assignment, and evaluation, the learner will receive an accumulate 30 continuing education hours from the State of California Registered Nursing Board.

Course Description
This self-study course provides learning opportunities for healthcare providers and nursing educators to explore theories, standards, and techniques in designing, delivering, and evaluating a curriculum and learning outcomes. Development of curriculum for programs in various education settings is examined. This course focuses on curriculum planning and designs, development of individual courses, structuring and budgeting for a training program, and integrating technologies to align with program mission, objectives, and outcomes. This is course could meet partial requirements of a DSD at a SNF facility or DON/ADON at a vocational nursing school.
After successfully completing the post-test, assignment, and evaluation, the learner will receive an accumulate 30 continuing education hours from the State of California Registered Nursing Board.
Planning, Implementation & Evaluating Educational Programs–DSD Certificate
A Director of Staff Development Certification Course
Course Description
24- hour Continuing Education Course
This self-study program provides an understanding for people who are interested in duties as a Director of Staff Development in a Skilled Nursing Facility. This course is a requirement for nurses who have had at least one year experience in a long term care facility or as an instructor in a precertification programs for certified nursing assistants (CNAs). It is an online course estimated to be completed in 24 hours.
Nursing Refresher Course

Didactic and clinical instruction addresses basic competencies for medical-surgical nursing as they apply to the holistic care of adult clients as seen primarily in the acute care environment.
